The first and second volumes of von Richthofen's (best known in English as Baron von Richthofen) landmark work on China. Includes the Introduction and Northern China volumes. Baron von Richthofen is noted for having coined the term "Silk Road" and as the uncle of WWI flying ace Manfred von Richthofen, the "Red Baron."
Condition
Volume 1 rebound, front hinge cracked with repair, back hinge repaired, toning and offsetting to pages; Volume 2 rebacked, wear and rubbing to binding, corners bumped, some offsetting, toning and foxing; overall both very good.
