Description
WOW! Here we present a RARE Early Dutch Arid Armalite AR-10 Portuguese Contract Gun. This is an original H&H Enterprises AR-10 semi auto rifle Chambered in 7.62x51 NATO. With Serial Number 32! This Beauty is in Pristine Condition and Comes with Sling, Two Original Armalite Waffle Mags and Comes Equipped with an Expensive repro German Bayonet (Knife & Tool Kit). This Rifle is Sold and shipped with a Heavy Duty Padded Metal Locking Weatherby Hardcase. What a Rare find for the true Collector! Good Luck as there will only be one Winner!!! These rifles were Eugene Stoner’s first mass produced AR pattern rifle, patented by Armalite and built by Artillerie Inrochtingen for Portugal, Sudan, Cuba, and Guatemala in the 1950’s and early 1960’s. Around 10,000 total were contracted and manufactured from beginning to end. Originally manufactured as a Safe/Semi/Auto rifle, some of the rifles made their way to the US as parts kits (without a functional receiver, of course) in the early 1980’s. These parts kits were mated to receivers made by multiple US companies, one of them being H&H Enterprises in California. H&H matched their receiver serial numbers to the original serial number on the parts kit. So, this rifle is ‘matching’, per se. The entire rest of the gun is all original vintage Dutch AR-10, including the sling. Polymer/Resin nutria brown handguard, buttstock, and pistol grip. Charging handle is a non-reciprocating trigger style. Entire bolt and carrier is hard chromed. The Portuguese contract rifles, like this one, were issued to parachute infantry and used during the Angolan Conflict and other major operations. These models were the last produced mode of original AR-10, having thicker metal and reinforced structures in the barrel and receivers. After a while, the AR-10’s in service with the airborne units were replaced by the G3 due to the Netherlands wanting to distance themselves from the Portuguese during their handling of unrest in Angola, thereby halting shipments of rifles to the Portuguese military. After being replaced, the AR-10’s were issued to numerous other Portuguese Air Force Units.
