City of Collapse is an original oil painting by Saul Kovner (Saul) (1904 - 1981).This unique piece depicts a scene of collapsed buildings in a city with a crane in the background (Most likely New York City where Saul painted). Very vibrant detailed painting with Kovner's trademark signature " Saul" located on bottom left. Known for his work in New York, Russian Federation, and California, his work is in the Metropolitan Museum, Library of Congress, amongst others. A Saul Kovner oil painting sold for over $10,000 in 2010 at auction. Measurements: Painting is 21 inches x 17 inches. Frame is approximately 24.5 x 28.5 inches.
Condition
Good condition: No patch work seen to front of painting by naked eye. Under UV examination / review of verso, three patches were applied to back of canvas (see photos). Crisp and vibrant painting with clear "Saul" signature on bottom left. Painting is housed in wood frame that has a silverish glean.
