Two Traditional Block Print Hangings, India. Including 1) A Mid 20th C. hanging of cotton tabby cloth, block print mordant dyed, with a field pattern repeat of Krishna emerging from a floral sprig, with two women holding fans on either side. 5' 8" x 6' 3" (172.7 x 190.5cm). 2) A Late 20th C. hanging of cotton tabby cloth executed in traditional block print technique. The hanging has a green ground with a floral repeat in red and yellow, with white area in the field, surrounded by three borders. 5' 1" x 7' 6" (154.9 x 228.6cm). Provenance: The Roger Hollander Collection of Indian Mainland Textiles.
