Palampore "Tree of Life" Hanging, India, Late 20th C.A hanging of cotton tabby cloth made by the contemporary Indian artist, Nirianjan Chetty, from the village of Sri Kalahasti. This palampore, or tree of life hanging, is worked in the kalamlari technique of hand drawn resist dye. Size: 109'' x 76'' (277 x 193 cm). Provenance: The Roger Hollander Collection of Indian Mainland Textiles.
