Charles M. Schwab Signed Andrew Carnegie Memorial Address Delivered 3 Months after the Billionaire's Death
A limited edition printed booklet entitled Address Delivered at the Memorial Service Held in Honor of Andrew Carnegie, Tuesday, November 25 1919, signed by its author/speaker, American industrialist Charles M. Schwab (1862-1939). Schwab fully engrossed and signed the top of the front flyleaf as, "To my friend George Steelman / with sincere regards / C.M. Schwab" in blue colored pencil. Printed by The De Vinne Press (New York, New York), ca. 1919. The soft wrappers decorated with a Neo-Classical border and the deckled pages are bound with a brown cord. Pencil inscribed at the bottom right of the front cover. Expected wear including light toning and a few scattered chips to the covers. Isolated foxing within the otherwise clean pages. Else very good to near fine. 17pp. 8vo.
Scottish-American billionaire Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919) had died of bronchial pneumonia in early August 1919. Schwab had been Carnegie's protegee, friend, former employee, and colleague.
