Description
Two Edwardian silver cigarette cases, the first example of oblong form with engraved scrolling foliate decoration to the whole and central monogramed cartouche, hallmarked Joseph Gloster Ltd, Birmingham 1906, length 3.5 (9cm), the second of rectangular form with similar bright cut engraved decoration, hallmarked Joseph Gloster Ltd, Birmingham 1909, length 3.25 (8cm). Gross weight 4.55 ozt (141.7 grams). (2).
Condition
With scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.The first example with a few small indentations and nicks, particularly around edges. Case shuts to, but with slight gap around one corner. Some rubbing to engraved decoration particularly to sides of the reverse. Interior worn, scratched and scuffed. Second example with general light wear. Interior also with light wear.
