Description
Jean De Bologne, After Giambologna, "Mercury," gilt bronze signed on the integral figural base, after the 1580 sculpture at the Villa Medici, depicting Mercury with winged cap and feet, caduceus in left hand, right arm outstretching, clutching a bag, issuing forth from the mouth of Zephyr, raised on a black marble plinth inset with a bronze relief band depicting putti in various pursuits, now mounted on a stepped wooden base as a lamp. Figure- H.- 33 in., Dia.- 7 in., With Base, H.- 34 1/2 in., W.- 8 1/2 in., D.- 8 1/4 in.
