A RARE HIDA SCHOOL ITTOBORI SHUNGA NETSUKE

Japan, 19th century, Edo period (1615-1868)
Depicting a mother nursing a young child, carved from wood and using the ittobori technique (using one knife). The underside shows the shunga-aspect of this netsuke. Himotoshi through the back.
HEIGHT 3.7 cm
Condition: Excellent condition with minor expected surface wear.
