This doll of 19" is made of cloth except for the arms which is a white soft leather. The body, legs and face are of cloth in brown color. The legs have been painted a greyish tone-original. The body is brown tone colored cloth that looks like vintage cloth that has some repair near the legs. . The face is hand painted and the hair is moulded to simulate a wave in the blond color of yellow. It is a very folk looking doll. I believe the clothes are of a later period and not the original. The face does have a smooth texture that maybe at one time had a wax covering to protect the paint. Through the paint you can see the cloth fabric on the face in the areas where the paint is worn.

this is a wonderful historical hand crafted doll from the 19th century, I think it was redressed later in the early 20th century, the legs are held on by twine( poor repair) to older leather. Paint missing from areas of face.
