Wonderful Native American pottery signed Virgie Garcia.
This beautiful pot is hand painted by Virgie Garcia of the Acoma tribe in New Mexico. Virgie was born in 1947 and is listed in books of Native American pottery in 1991 and 2002.
The pot is painted in black on an unglazed redware surface. There are 22 lizards, one large and 21 smaller. Note how the decoration on the lizard's backs varies. Below the lizards there are two zig zag wide borders containing lovely designs.
Excellent condition. Height about 5 1/4".
