Description
3 Daimler Benz numbered tokens from the aircraft motor factory in Genshagen. 2 made from iron and 1 from alumimun. All are ground dug in the area. These tokens might have been worn by workers or also slave laborers. The aircraft engine plant in Genshagen was built there for a subsidiary of Daimler-Benz AG, Daimler-Benz Motoren GmbH, which started production in February 1937. On August 6, 1944, the aircraft engine plant was largely destroyed in an Allied air raid, killing 104 people. From autumn 1944 to May 1945, 1,100 female concentration camp prisoners were forced to do forced labor in the Daimler-Benz Genshagen subcamp, a subcamp of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp.
