**First Time At Auction**
North America, United States, Civil War era, ca. 1861 to 1865 CE. A wonderful and historical gathering of Civil-War-era projectiles and adornments. There are nine lead musket balls, each formed from two independent halves, with a severed casting nub along the seam. Also included are five lead rifle bullets, each with a conical profile. Three bullets have solid compositions and constricted bases, one has three incised grooves with a hollow form, and one has no embellishments. A petite bronze button with ten stars, a central disc, and an integral suspension loop is also present, as is a thin, ovoid dagger / bayonet attachment. A fantastic ensemble from one of the most pivotal period in American history! Size of largest (bayonet attachment): 1.4" L (3.6 cm).
Provenance: private Denver, Colorado, USA collection, acquired by his father before 1970

Condition
All items have expected age-commensurate surface wear, light abrasions, and earthen deposits. Rifle bullets have small chips to latter rims, with one being only half of a bullet. Bayonet attachment has slight bending to overall form, though nice green patina is present.
