Description
Ancient Near East, Syria, ca. 2nd milliennium BCE. A beautiful necklace comprised of 23 carnelian beads of lozenge, tubular, and rounded forms strung in a balanced symmetrical manner and interspersed with dozens of faience beads in aqua blue, white, cream, and umber hues - these faience beads of disc and corseted ovoid forms, many of which have impressed striated motifs! A gorgeous example of wearable art! Size: 24" L (61 cm; the largest carnelian beads measure .875" L x .625" in diameter (2.2 cm x 1.6 cm)

Condition
Several of the carnelian beads show minor old nicks and pressure fissures, however their forms are still strong. Expected age wear to faience beads, many graced with nice deposits. All beads are ancient, strung in modern times. Lovely and wearable!
