2nd-3rd century AD. A carved schist frieze fragment representing the torso of a standing female (perhaps Yakshi?) wearing a draped garment revealing the curves of the figure beneath; swags of beads and other ornaments festooned around the neck; mounted on a custom-made stand. See Jongeward, D. Buddhist Art of Gandhara in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2018. 10.2 kg, 50cm including stand (19 1/2"). Ex South London collection; acquired in the late 1990s.
