first quarter 20th century, American or English, with a displayed eagle crest flanked by pierced scrollwork, the cove-molded surround set with gilt spherules, the edge decorated with ribbon-bound reeding, the bottom with a bellflower drop.

In overall good condition. The surface exhibits some moderate rubbing and gilt loss, and the piece exhibits some shrinkage, including one shrinkage crack in the plaster, but no notable losses. The mirror plate exhibits some imperfections in the silvering, probably by design.
