Description
Pair of English cobalt blue porcelain and enamel vases by Thomas Bott, circa 1890. The central image of the urns depict charming putti/cherub girls with hats. Gilt encrusted floral vines throughout with gilt to the double handles and top and base rim. Each vase is signed TJ Bott, no apparent maker mark. Unmarked. Originally without the lids given the shape of the top rim. T.J. Bott was apprenticed at Worcester, spent time working independently in London and Worcester and had become Art Director at Coalport by 1891, remaining until 1926.
