Irregular paging. Rare state atlas with an early national railway map by Rand, McNally & Co. Text on page 7 reads: What it Takes to make a State atlas.; giving details of the artisans employed in printing and coloring the work and supplying the paper. On last page are two paste-on advertising cancels - Will show also the Post Offices in the United States, and the Counties and States they are situated in. And - Also a Classified Business Directory, printing the name or firm in bold letters. Does not have the full compliment of maps and county plat plans so as to reduce the weight for salesmen to carry. A salesman's sample of an atlas this scarce is quite possibly unique. Quite water stained. Broken, boards loose.
