Description
Extraordinary, Chinese 18th Century Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong blue & white hexagonal vase. The finest porcelain potted in the baluster vase, thick, large and tall, in a hexagonal body, stout main belly, straight side rim, tapering gracefully towards a straight high neck, upper open lip slight flaring hexagonal, raised on slightly short a hexagonal foot base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. Blue and white porcelain in Chinese it is called Qing Hua Ci. It is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. It was originated in the Yuan Dynasty. Its color does not easily fade and durability is longer. It used cobaltous oxide as the colorant. Patterns were directly painted onto the inner body and burnt after glaze was applied on it. The Exterior delicately fine depicted with various flowers blooms interspersed fresh foliage, called flowers of the four season. The straight side rim hexagonal decorated with auspicious archaic ornament. The upper lip, the shoulder and the foot base rim festooned with interlocking key fret, thrashing wavy Lishui water, and auspicious pattern. Flowers of the Four Seasons: In the Chinese culture, specific flowers represent the seasons. winter: Plum Blossom, Spring: Peony, Summer: Lotus, Fall: Chrysanthemum. The health and condition of the flower also conveys meaning in the Chinese culture. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, and the carving. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well carved, clear, subtle, distinct, and the shape is uniformly proportioned.

The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
