An antique Spanish Islamic faience pottery bowl, "serie de las clavellinas" decoration, Manises (Valencia). Tin pink / strawberry and copper luster glaze depicting a bird surrounded by a floral foliage motif, scrolling circular border. Measures 13.5" x 3-1/8" high.
CONDITION: When tapped the bowl has a clear ring tone, not dull. There are areas of loss to the glaze at the center of the bowl showing as brown spots. There is a crack diagonally at about 9 o clock measuring 3" long. It may have gone through, because it appears that this crack may have been repaired with some type of filler. There is a chip to the underside rim and some scattered rim nicks and areas of glaze loss. See photos.
