Description
This lot consists of a hand painted mixed media (graphite and watercolor) illustration on paper, "P. Signac" is hand written in graphite at lower left and labeled "Paris" at bottom right. Image depicts an endearing view of Notre Dame on a sunny day in France's capital city. The artist has created a fabulous atmosphere; there is a real sense of space within the picture that is incredibly close to life. Creative use of color and lines. Done in the Neo-Impressionist style of Modern Artist Paul Victor Jules Signac (French, 1863-1935). Piece measures approximately 18" x 24". This stunning watercolor would be a highlight of any fine art collector's gallery.

Paul Signac (Paul Victor Jules Signac) was one of the principal French neo-impressionist painters of his time. He was initially influenced by Monet and later he closely associated himself with Georges Seurat in experimenting with the application of dots of color known as Pointillisim, which became the basis of Neo-Impressionism.
