Description
Estate-Fresh Group of Glass Negatives with some printed, some identified. Six 5" x 8" glass plates include: A narrow Gauge Railroad track through steep mountains (Most Likely Conway New Hampshire, or Western Maine) A Man with Single Horse Drawn Sleigh, Dog, and wearing a heavy fur coat. A Homestead with Two very well-Built New England Buildings, A team of Loggers, with oxen, shovels, saws, etc. (There is a note in the box that says "New City Maine" This could be a shot of the lumberjacks of New City Maine in the late 19th Century. That area is now in Baxter State Park, Near Mount Katahdin). and finally an Early American Baseball Game Likely in the Laconia, Merideth, or Forest Hill Area of New Hampshire. It is a great action shot as it captures the pitcher in mid throw. The sign on the wagon and the background landscape provided most of the identification. The actual teams are unknown, however could the Laconia town team.
