Albert Winslow Barker, printmaker, draughtsman, and educator, was born in Chicago, Illinois. He initially fell in love in charcoal because he was colorblind and the medium offered rich tones he could not otherwise see, but in 1926 discovered and fell in love with lithography. He went on to produce over 200 lithographic images during his lifetime, many depicting rural Pennsylvania.
