Impressive Tiffany & Co. "English King" Sterling Silver Flatware Set

the pattern designed in 1885 by Charles Grosjean (1841-1888), New York, New York, including a dozen twenty-one-piece place settings and two salt spoons, no monograms (except for the gumbo spoons monogrammed "HDD", presented with twenty-two of the original Tiffany felt rolls and a fitted, Pacific cloth-lined case with lift-top and single drawer, 6" x 14-3/4" x 11-1/4".

A very nice set in good condition. The core set of dinner-size pieces (illustrated in the case in the catalogue photo) has some surface wear consistent with occasional use; the pieces in the rolls by and large are near-pristine. Seven pieces (two salad forks, one dessert spoon, one cream soup spoon, one iced tea spoon, one luncheon fork, and one demitasse spoon) have some sort of etched inventory number (#49 1742027 Tenn) on the handle reverse in the monogram blank; the same luncheon fork has a dented outer tine. Each solid piece marked (on the underside in the die) "Tiffany & Co. Sterling Patent 1885 M". Case exterior with some scuffs and scratches.
