American Rococo Revival Laminated Rosewood Console Table
third quarter 19th century, commonly attributed to J.& J. W. Meeks, New York, the serpentine wooden top over a conforming pierced and carved apron with floral and leaf carving, raised on cabriole legs with like carving at the knees, the back with a central mirror plate flanked by mirrors, fronted by a serpentine shelf with a carved and pierced apron.

Provenance: The Estate of Donald J. Hurst, Waterloo, Iowa.
Other Notes: Consoles and etageres of the present group have traditionally been attributed to J. & J. W. Meeks of New York. A handful, including one sold at this gallery, have surfaced with the stenciled label of their nearby competitor, Thomas Brooks of Brooklyn, New York.
