Good Victorian Japonaise Sterling Silver Drinks Set
hallmarked London, 1883-1884, by John Aldwinkle & James Slater, including a pitcher and two beakers, each of tapering cylindrical form and engraved with herons and bamboo, the pitcher with applied "bamboo" handle with foliate mounts.

Condition
A very attractive set in quite good condition, with no issues noted beyond light surface scuffs and dings
commensurate with age. Nice, crisp engraving. Each piece hallmarked (on the body, near the rim) with:
1) the sterling lion passant; 2) the London leopard's head; 3) the date letter "H" for 1883-1884; 4) the
Victoria's bust duty mark; and 5) the "JA/JS" in a trefoil maker's mark of Aldwinkle & Slater. Marks lightly
worn but fully legible.
