Description
Largest size 26 x 16 in. Theodore Wahl was born on December 18, 1903 in Dillon, Kansas. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1925 and spent a year teaching in a one-room school house before enrolling at the Univ. of Kansas. Studied at the Univ. of Kansas, Lawrence with Albert Bloch and Karl Mattern, and at the Kansas City Art Institute with Ross Braught. Moved to New York City in 1933 to study lithography with Bolton Brown. Wahl created and printed lithographs at the artist's colony in Woodstock, NY, as well as in New York City, where he was head of lithographic printing for the WPA. Taught at Riegel Ridge in Milford, NJ from 1947-57.
