A vintage sepia-colored photographic print of Jack Dempsey (1895-1983), American heavyweight boxing world champion, inscribed and signed by him as "Best of Luck / To My Friend Nasmas / Jack Dempsey" at lower right. A pin hole at top and a few isolated stains. The bottom has been trimmed, and the lower left corner is wrinkled. Else very good. 8.5" x 10.75".
Dempsey was one of the most popular boxers of the 1920s. Dempsey's September 1927 match-up with arch rival Gene Tunney, called the Long Count Fight, is one of the most famous bouts of boxing history.
