Description
A CHINESE CANTON BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN COVERED JAR, QING DYNASTY (1644-1912), of garden seat or drum form with incised lines and applied porcelain bosses suggesting a tufted seat, the lid centering a small hole likely for a silk handle or finial which is now lacking, over a drum form, painted in underglaze blue of classical Chinese scenes of important furniture, objects, tools, and auspicious symbols likely found a scholar or imperial servant's residential area, flanked by four integral handles, verso a double blue underglaze ring. Height: 6 1/2" Diameter: 6 1/2"
