Illustrated with beautiful photos by Steichen & Genthe as well as other famous artists of the day, including frontispiece and 33 black and white illustrations. 4to. (8"x10 3/4"). 147pp. Facsimile signatures of Isadora Duncan on front and rear endpapers. Covers show some light foxing and staining, tiny chip to top of spine label, and tip wear, still a square, tightly bound, near fine book. This Limited Edition, features the writings of Isadora Duncan--considered the founder of Modern Dance—she was an American and French dancer who performed to acclaim throughout Europe. Born in California, she lived in Western Europe and the Soviet Union from the age of 22 until her death at age 50, when her scarf became entangled in the wheels and axle of the car in which she was riding. The shocking ending to her life, and captured in the movie, Isadora, starring Vanessa Redgrave.
