Second half 19th century, 192 x 128 cm, North West Persia, Kurdistan
A classic white-ground Sehna presenting a repeat of large botehs arranged in offset rows and interspersed with floral stems. In the blue-black border, small palmettes, flowers and sickle leaves are linked by a vine drawn in the typical, slightly angular style of the provenance. The extremely fine weave on a polychrome silk warp, tasteful palette and perfectly drawn design make this a masterpiece of Persian weaving. ā Very good condition, original finishes all around.
