Note: The New York firm of Sypher & Company opened in 1866 as one of the first American dealers of antiques and objets d’art and specialized in early American furniture. They rose to prominence during the peak of the Gilded Age and sold to important New York clients including John D. Rockefeller and Cornelius Vanderbilt.
