Description
A Chinese blue and white porcelain snuff bottle dating from the 19th century. The snuff bottle has a jade stopper, a 4-character Qianlong mark on the bottom, and the body features guardian lion heads with engaged rings on either side with six deer on the front and back.
Dimensions are: 3 3/4 inches tall X 3 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The cork has broken off, otherwise good condition.
Provenance: From the estate of Mr. & Mrs. Levin. Mr. Levin was the US Consul General to Hong Kong in the 1980s, and later served as the US Ambassador to Burma from 1987 to 1990.
