Oliver Goldsmith was an 18th-century Irish author known for his novels and plays. His most famous work was his 1766 novel ‘The Vicar of Wakefield’ a work that appears in Samuel Richard’s 1823 edition of the works of Goldsmith. This six volume set features “An Inquiry in the State of Learning,” “The Characteristics of Greatness,” ‘The Citizen of the World’ or letters and correspondence on Chinese philosophy, and manners of traveling, as well as studies on botany and Animalia.
