ORNATE INDO PERSIAN WARRIOR SHIELD ARABIC INSCRIPTION.

Indo -Persian shield convex form circular shape .

Arabic inscription at cental panle and bottom rim.

Made of heavy steel hand hammered and hand chiseled.

The surface has beautifully engraved medallions comprising engraved flower motifs inside.

The shield bears an elaborate chiseled engraving over its surface with floral and creeper design.

Four domed bosses chiseled with flower motifs connecting hooks at back.

The shield is larger than usual shield , it measures 19 inches in diameter.

Similare shield is in Natioanl useum New Delhi India.

The reserve of shield bears cloth cushion with 2 handles to hold.

This makes this helmet adding dramatic detailing to this incredible piece of armor.

Condition few tiny loss some scattered stains .

An interesting shield showing the influence of other cultures.Circa Qajar period 18th.-19th. century.
