Description
A Villanovan bronze bowl, c. 8th - 7th Century BC, formed from sheet bronze, quite deep with vertical sides without lip. A small hole for attachment just below the rim, nearby, a pair of circular patches, joined on the inside by a strip of bronze, perhaps an ancient repair. Two small holes through the bottom. Attractive green and blue patination, especially on the inside. H: 3 ¼ in (8.3 cm); Dia: 7 in (17.8 cm). Ex Orange County private collection.
