Description

Collection of Ten American-Made Embroidery Samples, 1960-90s

These embroidery samples were discovered in the Geoffrey Beene Archive.

The first is a curved edge of chinelle thread embroidery with gold square sequins, rhinestones, gold braid and blue jewel sequins. Label: Originals by Gay Creations Incporporated / 519 Eigth Avenue New York, N.Y. / LO 4-3370-1-2-3

The second is of pink plastic triangles, plastic faceted jewels and glass beads. Label: Creators / 575 8th Ave NYC

The third is with pink and white sequins on cream fabric. Label: Miss Anea / 2 W. 47th St. / New York 36, N.Y. / JU 2-373

The fourth s a striped example of straw or wood-backed sequins, wood beads and rhinestones. Label: La Gene Embroidery Inc. / Original Creators of Gang Die Nailheads / Machine Embroideries - Mending Appliques-Novelties / 225 West 39th St. New York
