Description
This pair of wonderful miniature porcelain dolls by Cathy Hansen resemble the German character dolls made by Kammer and Rheinhardt and Kathe Kruse in the early 20th century. The larger doll is 3" tall and has blonde hair styled in a mass of curls at either side of her head, and painted brown eyes. She wears a cream cotton and lace dress trimmed with green silk ribbon, and has lace undies. Her little sister is 2 5/8" tall and has auburn hair in braids, wound into buns on either side. Her eyes are blue. She wears a cute sailor dress and white panties. Both dolls are jointed at their shoulders and hips. Little sister is incised C Hansen 1982 on her back. Big sister's dress is glued in place so I can't check for markings, but she is clearly by the same artist. A sweet set of dolls by a wonderful miniature artist.
Condition
Big sister's dress has some soil, otherwise they are in very good condition with no damage.
