16 loose broadside sonnets interleaved with 16 pochoir plates by Yan B. Dyl. 42.4x30.3 (16¾x12"), stenciled folder and cloth-backed portfolio. No. 172 of an edition limited to 350.
Yan Bernard Dyl was a French illustrator and painter. He was known for his commercial art for Campari, but also as an illustrator of erotic themes. Dyl fell afoul of the German occupiers, was arrested in 1943, deported for acts of resistance, and died at Buchenwald.
Condition
Portfolio boards bowed, some soiling and stains; offsetting from plates onto broadside poems; very good overall.
