Roman Period, 30 BC-323 AD. A silver wire ring with recurved knot to the bezel ending with Serapis flanked by a serpent head. Cf. Chadour, A.B. Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 132 for type. 4.60 grams, 20.15mm overall, 16.89mm internal diameter (approximate size British M, USA 6, Europe 12.46, Japan 12) (3/4"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired by his father in the 1970s; thence by descent.
