Disney Signed Mickey Mouse Courvoisier Animation Cel & Background Original Art (Walt Disney, ca. 1940)

Disney Studio's south-of-the-border features were a result of the 1940 Goodwill Tour of Latin America by Walt Disney. This specialty publicity cel of Mickey as an Argentine Gaucho was from that tour. Only a very limited quantity was produced, with this one appearing with the conventional Courvoisier added "Original WDP" seal which was rubber-stamped at the lower right corner of the mat opening. The mat (15.75" x 14.75") has been inscribed and signed by Walt Disney with his big cursive signature "To Michael R. Nex / all Best Wishes / Walt Disney". Cell size 9" x 7.75". The cel is near fine, with a heavily age-toned mat, and aged tape along the verso which holds the cel to the mat. However the signature remains strong and vibrant.

The combination of this cel being of the premier marque Disney character (the famous mouse!), the Disney signature, and the Courvoisier set-up makes this piece a must have for a Disney collector!
