Item Details
Description
An M. Hohner Marine Band harmonica in the key of A owned and played by Bob Dylan, contained in the original box and signed in black marker "Bob Dylan 1961." The harmonica is stamped "A440."

Accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Peter McKenzie, with whom Dylan lived for a few months when the singer-songwriter first moved to New York City. McKenzie states that the harmonica was owned and played by Dylan in 1961 and signed in the late summer of that year. Also accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Recordmecca's Jeff Gold, who confirms that Dylan gave the harmonica to McKenzie, the 15-year-old son of Mac and Eve McKenzie, while Dylan lived with the family in their apartment on 28th Street, and by a letter of disposition signed by forensic document examiner James A. Blanco.
