Description
The lot features a nice polychrome painted pottery wall pocket from the Hopi Pueblo American Indians and dating to the 1940’s. The piece shows a nice pottery craftmanship with all mounted hole and flat surface having a pot or plat holder attached to the front. The entire piece shows a nice tan / cream background with black / brown and red painted typical designs. The piece is marked on the back 30 / and 65 in graphite or paint. Possibly mean from 1930 and a price of $65 or vice versa. Provenance: From a 90-year collection out of Central Arizona in the Coconino National Forest. Measures overall 7”L x 4.5”W x 2.5”D.
