"Peter Max" Signed 1974 World's Fair Expo74 Stamp Sheet
PETER MAX (born Peter Max Finkelstein, October 19, 1937). American German-born Jewish Artist best known for his "Cosmic Brownies" Pop Art Style, as it became to be known in the 1960s.
(November 20, 1982), Plate Block of 12 Stamps from the 1974 World's Fair, Signed, "Peter Max" in violet marker, 4.25" x 7.5", mounted to a 8.5" x 11" page, Choice Mint. Max designed the "Cosmic Jumper and Smiling Sage" Stamp for the "Expo '74" World's Fair. As per note on mounting, this block was signed at the Gallery in Conshocken on November 20, 1982. The signature "Peter Max" is signed in violet marker measuring a huge 6.5" long with his flourish.
Peter Max (born Peter Max Finkelstein, October 19, 1937) is a German-American artist known for using bright colours in his work. Works by Max are associated with the visual arts and culture of the 1960s, particularly psychedelic art and pop art.
