Wimal De Silva is an artist who hails from a small town call Boralessa in Sri Lanka with a First Class Diploma in Fine Arts from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He is a sculptor, painter and a wood carver and has produced an array of artwork in a career spanning three decades. Some of the well publicized work of his include the copper plaque that was presented to Former British Prime Minister Margret Thatcher on her visit to Sri Lanka in 1985, two large 20 x 10 foot murals that adorn the walls of People’s Bank head quarters in the capital city of Sri Lanka, another 16 x 6 foot mural at a Commercial Bank building and several terracotta based mosaics and murals adorning hotels and famous buildings in Sri Lanka.
