William-and-Mary-Style Oak Chest

18th century, the rectangular top above a conforming case fitted with four long drawers, each tri-paneled and with raised and molded geometric patterns, raised on incised bun feet.

In good "as found" condition. The piece exhibits mars, shrinkage, scuffs, abrasions and wear consistent with age and use. The top has two straight-line shrinkage separations along the lines where boards are laminated together. There are a number of mars and abrasions, including a couple shallow indentations from burns. Drawers slide freely. Pulls replaced; one loose. Locks are present; a key is not. The case exhibits some movement in its glue joints. Three pieces of molding from a stile flanking a drawer are detached but present. One applied roundel is missing.
