Italian Carved Marble of "Autumn"
19th century, the classically draped and leaf-wreathed figure holding a scythe and sheaf of wheat.

Provenance: Louisiana Jockey Club, New Orleans, Louisiana; The Estate of Frank Fasullo, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Notes: This marble was one of the Four Seasons sculptures that adorned the front garden of the Luling Mansion (later the Jockey Club) in Bayou St. John, New Orleans. It can be seen in images of the estate from the late 19th to the early years of the 20th century.

Condition
In overall good, professionally restored condition. Old repair to neck, proper right ankle and scythe.
Scattered filler repairs, including back, right side of robe, back of robe, above left breast and scattered
other areas. Repairs were done some time ago and have yellowed slightly over time. Minimal exposure to
the elements. Some faint abrading, especially at leaves of wreath and other more deeply modeled areas.
Slight roughening to surface, including to the right side of nose. Layer of surface soiling. Please see
additional images.
