Description

A large Venetian polychromed figural torchère on pedestal, late 19th century.
H: 68 in.
PROVENANCE:
Property of a Virginia Gentleman

Condition

In generally good condition. The figure with repainting to upper body, particularly left arm and with torchere a modern replacement; repainting possibly disguising repairs. Right arm with repair/cracking at shoulder. Otherwise general wear/chipping/cracking commensurate with age, with minor inpainting throughout, mostly gold in tunic. Base with heavier chipping/crazing/losses.
