Early issue of Dickens' first novel. The two suppressed plates by R. Buss not present. Second issue of frontispiece and title, the stool having six stripes, and Phiz fecit to the left of the middle shield at foot; the vignette title with the sign reading "Tony Weller" and signed "PHIZ. fecit"; textual errors corrected.
Condition
Some wear and rubbing to boards, top joint/hinge repaired with glue making the binding a bit tight; scattered light foxing and finger soiling; very good.
