Description
A IS FOR APPLE - RARE RARE RARE designed by a group of Dutch artists known as THE FOOL and sold in the BEATLES BOUTIQUE in London on Baker Street. We have sold a few of these but never had a mint to NM poster available, with only the slightest of edge wear from prior framing. GOOD LUCK ! The story of the Apple Boutique is a fascinating look at how not to run a business. In 1967, Paul envisioned a "beautiful place to buy beautiful things," and the Beatles rented a building at 94 Baker Street in London. They hired an art collective known as the Fool (Simon Posthuma, Marijke Koeger, Simon Hayes, and Barry Finch) to design murals, clothing, posters, and more (they even painted John's acoustic guitar and Rolls Royce, plus Eric Clapton's Gibson SG guitar in wild, swirling designs). Mismanagement and disillusion soon set in, and in eight months, it was all over. Height: 73.9 cm sheet max, Width: 56 cm sheet max, Height: 63.8 cm image without border max, Width: 45.9 cm image without border max. Psychedelic poster, 'A is for Apple' by the Fool design group, Britain, 1960s. 22" x 29" inches.
